cool! is this some later temple recreation, or original? the letters are greek. did the romans admire the greeks? just curious. great picture!

Good eye, it is a later temple recreation- I believe from the 16th century. The Romans worshiped the Greeks... they adopted most of Greek religion and myth for their own purpose.. and art/architecture. Most Greek statues that we see are actually Roman copies of Greek originals that are now lost.

yeah i heard that too about the romans admiring the greeks. hell, if you look at their architecture it's very similar, just a bit grander on the scale. all of the roman gods are just renamed greek gods (zeus-jupiter, hermes-mercury, aphrodite-venus, and so on) i guess you can tell that ancient rome and ancient civilizations facinate me! I guess that's why I like your photos so much!

well, my college is university of discovery (channel)! History channel too! any TV I watch I tend to gravitate to educational. I love learning! of course I read too! don't think that i'm just an educated couch potato! LOL! :pc::deviator:

it is a good school indeed! I watch it a lot too, sometimes it needs to be taken a little critically. Educated couch potatoes are the best kind of potato! :lmao:
nothing wrong with some emotion love, I am usually just too lazy to make good use of them.
